Meetings

Since 1990, we have been holding free monthly meetings.

Currently, our meetings are held every third Saturday of the month at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, 615 South New Ballas Road in the McAuley Room South. (Click here for directions). There is always ample free parking. Dates are subject to change upon availability

The meetings are open to the public and we particularly welcome OCD patients, their friends and family, as well as nursing, psychology, and medical school students. Approximately fifty persons attend the meetings each month. Refreshments are served.

Beginning at 10:00 am, the first hour of the meeting consists of a guest speaker and an accompanying question/answer session. The presenters are all qualified professionals in their field who are active in the treatment of OCD, or a related area such as disability rights, insurance, or social security.

During the second half of our meetings, two separate support groups are conducted for:

  1. adult consumers
  2. family and friends of the consumers

All information discussed is kept strictly confidential and typically centers on treatment options, personal experiences, coping mechanisms, etc.

A support group for consumers in Kansas City, MO is also available.

The Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous group also holds regular meetings.
